SESSIONS

SESSION TYPES

01

PRENATAL

My goal for a prenatal session is for you to get a challenging workout, while mastering your breath, locating support muscles, and getting to know your changing alignment. Your body will be working hard throughout your pregnancy and your workout should support that challenge. Just because it's a prenatal session doesn't mean it's not a "good" workout!

02

POSTNATAL

My first goal for a postnatal session is to find healthy ways for you to move that incorporate sound biomechanics into your everyday actions. Next, we progress those movements into a full body workout. You must be at least 6 weeks postpartum, plus have your doctor's go ahead to exercise before booking a postnatal session.

CORRECTIVE MOVEMENT

03

Learn how to find pain free movement or new movement pathways that optimize the pain free range of motion you have available. I will educate you on your postural patterns that may be holding you back. Just because a session is corrective, doesn't mean it won't be a challenging workout! I'm happy to coordinate care with your physical therapist to get you on the right track to recovery.

04

FIND YOUR CORE

Your core is a dynamic group of muscles that go way beyond "abs." If your core muscles aren't showing up for you, we can find them together! You will learn how to access your abdominals in conjunction with your deep back stabilizers, pelvic floor muscles, and breath to stabilize your spine and pelvis through movement.

HELLO, I'M CHRYSETTA

02_chrysetta_flex.jpg

I'm a Pilates practitioner based in NYC since 2011. A lot of fads have come and gone, but the ability for intelligently guided Pilates to create real change in our bodies continues to wow me!

My Pilates certification is through the Kane School of Core Integration. Through my own research, continuing education courses, and my career in dance I've learned to see, feel, and guide anatomy in motion. I have specific training and experience working with people who have pelvic pain conditions, prolapse, and diastasis. I'm also certified as a Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise Specialist through Core Exercise Solutions developed by Dr. Sarah Duvall. We carry our histories in our bodies, so no two bodies are alike. The most important thing I can teach you is that change in your body is possible...if you have the right tools!

I've struggled with chronic hip pain and a labral tear for many years. Pilates has allowed me to move my way out of pain and I love to share the power of taking control of pain with others!
